About the event
Sis, we see you.
As a Black woman you are bombarded with slights, microaggressions, racism, sexism, and disrespect. But we SEE you. We honor you. We love you.
This workshop series was birthed out of a deep love and commitment to Black women. We see how you go hard for everyone you love, but sometimes you do not pour into yourself the same ways you pour into other people. There are reasons for that.
In this workshop series, we will explore the roots of your self-care beliefs and practices. We will lean on the words and wisdom of our literary and feminist ancestors, such as Audre Lorde, Lucille Clifton, Toni Cade Bambara, Toni Morrison, and bell hooks. We will affirm ourselves with our words and with our deeds. And we will join in community to express and deepen our love for each other and ourselves.
